answering a slew of anons from earlier in one post so i don’t spam. \o/? mostly TBU and/or chase madison related.
If Kurt does end up dating Chase, I’d like if he was a nice guy but was also a workaholic who put his job ahead of Kurt, thinking he’d understand bc they work together. Then when Kurt needed his input about NYADA or something and he didn’t have time, Kurt could flashback to the times Blaine was so supportive in the past. Not bc I want Kurt to “get a taste of his own medicine” or anything, I love him, but bc I think he does need to learn about balancing love/career and it could be interesting.
i could get into something like that. i just don’t want him (or whoever kurt dates) to be a total dick, both because kurt’s had enough problems as it is and because, as i said earlier, i don’t want him to get back with blaine because the only other guy he dated was mean to him or something. of course, it’s glee and they love their colfer tears, so he’ll probably get egged.
a lot of people are saying they don’t want them back together until the end of the season because the distance will still be an issue. am i the only one who wants them back together with enough time to prove to themselves and everyone that they can make it work in spite of physical distance?
you’re definitely not the only one! i very much would like to see them really WORKING at an LDR once they get back together, with them now realizing how damn important it is to make time for the other (kurt) and to really communicate their needs (blaine). besides, i don’t want them broken up for that long anyway. :x
I don’t think Glee will show Kurt with a love interest. He’ll just continue to be a prop to Rachel’s scenes. Maybe a few references to going out on a date and a freak out when someone tries to kiss him, and possibly running to Blaine. But a genuine exploration of Kurt after being cheated on, no. I’ll be surprised if he gets to react. Blaine will just continue to wallow in guilt. Ryan Murphy should not be trusted with the word happy.
idk how much he’ll really react to the breakup or be seen ~dealing with it, but i do think he’ll have some kind of love interest. they may or may not get to the boyfriend stage, but i think he’ll have someone. i could totally see him going out with chase (or whoever it is) and there being an almost-kiss that kurt pulls away from, tho. not necessarily with him freaking out, but just him realizing that he doesn’t want to kiss this dude. otoh, it’s entirely possible that he’ll actually get into a relationship. it probably won’t get a ton of focus/screentime, but i could see him dating somebody just long enough to be “taken” at christmas or the wemma wedding or some other time he and blaine see each other.
I agree with your other anon: Kurt and Chase will date, Kurt and Blaine will kiss, chastely, at Wemma’s wedding, and then Kurt will have to decide between Chase, his sweet, sophisticated new boyfriend, or Blaine, his first love. Unlike Blaine in TBU, his cheating will be seen as totally sympathetic. Blaine will be portrayed as the evil tempter, and Chase will be a jerk who doesn’t understand Kurt’s pain.
even if that happened, i don’t think (altho lol glee) that they’ll be presenting blaine as a ~bad guy again. he’s going to wallow in guilt for a while and then get his shit together and be sweet blaine again. but seriously, if kurt and blaine are still broken up at the time of the wedding, i expect some serious feelings from both of them along with an emotional slow dance, if not a kiss or straight-up getting back together. because they’ve talked about their wedding, no question, and i’m sure being at a wedding together surrounded by all their high school friends will hit them both hard.
I’m guessing the writers wanted us to think Kurt was really busy and sort of “ignoring” (not the right word, hope you get what I mean) Blaine, even if they kind of failed to show it in episode 4. What if they give Kurt a boyfriend, and then said boyfriend breaks up with him because Kurt is doing the same thing he was doing with Blaine? It’s highly unlikely, but RIB love to make Kurt miserable :/
it could happen, but i’m sure whoever kurt ends up dating will be a mature adult who understands what it’s like to have a demanding job, unlike silly high schooler blaine!
Yeah, I would find it… unspeakably depressing if Kurt got abused in S2 and no one in power cared, lost everything he attempted in S3, got to NY and promptly had his boyfriend cheat on him, started dating someone new, and THEN that guy was just fucking with him for the sake of messing with his head and career. I care more about the boys individually than I do about keeping their relationship together at all costs, even if one of those individual stories is really messed-up right now.
yeah, i just don’t see any appeal in kurt’s new guy being an asshole. i mean, i’ll casually hate him anyway for not being blaine, lol, but i think it makes a much better story if he’s an okay dude.
I was POSITIVE that Chase would be a work rival until he conveniently stopped by to see that Kurt’s boyfriend had cheated on him, and tried to cheer him up after that. Oh well, Dan’s got one of my favorite voices that I’ve heard from the show, so I can deal with him for a while.
yeah, i was the same, but that moment with chase showing up to comment on the flowers and be nice to kurt was not subtle. i still want to know how old he’s supposed to be. it would be kind of interesting if the character is in his late twenties, which is how he looks to me.
Has another every written a story that flits between the first and second summer Klaine were boyfriends? The first being the summer of ‘I Love You’ and the second one where they’ve become sexually active. So sexy/fluffy. I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed some happy fic :(
idk but that sounds adorable! i can’t seem to write anything right now. fluff hurts, angst hurts, everything hurts. /o\
of course i hate it when people blame kurt, but i also don’t enjoy the fact that they think kurt didn’t do anything wrong. not talking about the cheating (that’s only blaine’s fault, etc.), but their relationship wasn’t going so well in makeover, and i wish the writers had been more clear about the time period and other things that contribuited to blaine thinking kurt didn’t care (i feel like i need to say it again: not kurt’s fault, but they just portayed blaine as absolutely unsympathetic).
yeah, the relationship struggles were definitely caused by both of them — kurt for not listening enough and blaine for not talking enough. i actually thought the show made blaine look even worse by having kurt call him at the top of 4.04, because it was like “look, kurt really is trying after all!” which was nice, but since they had blaine go to eli’s anyway, it just took away even more sympathy.
Writing wasn’t sympathetic to Blaine at all in TBU. All the sympathy he got, was what Darren miraculously managed to squeeze out of his scenes. That blame-y sentence in the park made me cringe, how is that in any way sympathetic writing. If I strip all the dialogue from acting, it just makes Blaine into a total douche. Then I a)admire Darren so much b)get his letter cause he must have know how dicey it will be and c)think Ryan is an asshole so chances of a good arc for Blaine are zero. AAAAH!
i honestly feel terrible for darren, even moreso that he felt unprepared for the scene in the park, because i love him to pieces but i do think it showed. he wasn’t terrible or anything, but the writing for him was AWFUL and he had a hard time making it any better. (then again, idk how he really could’ve made it much better.) i thought “teenage dream” was flawless, tho, and he was really good in the phone call with kurt, and even his little exchange with finn back in lima. i really felt for blaine in those scenes. :(
